Eine Hand mit einem Kompass

A focus on corporate governance. Progressive and responsible-minded.

Our employees are our most important asset. Employee satisfaction is gauged annually across all companies within the Volkswagen Group using the ‘mood barometer’ to enable managers to identify room for improvement and the need for action. We attach great importance to a willingness to engage in dialogue and a highly developed feedback culture. Accordingly, we embrace various formats that promote dialogue between managers and employees. We want to use them to enable our employees make an active contribution to processes with their evaluations and any criticism they may have.

Diversity as a success factor.

The Volkswagen Group Essentials form the foundations for the values shared by all of the Group’s brands and companies, including Volkswagen Immobilien. Seven simple ‘We’ statements express what our company stands for:

With the aid of a jointly created ‘toolbox’, Volkswagen Immobilien embraces these guiding principles in day-to-day business activities. As a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, we share its Code of Conduct. We do not discriminate against anybody and we do not tolerate discrimination. Minimum standards for promoting and ensuring diversity and equal opportunities on a lasting basis are set out in the Group’s ‘HR compliance’ guidelines. Consequently, diversity has also been integrated into the VWI 2030 strategy and is an integral part of the ‘Employer Attractiveness’ initiative. Among the most important measures for promoting diversity and equal opportunities are our ‘Role Model Programme’ for managers and the ‘Diversity Run’ as an interactive online role play concept. Taking part in the first Diversity Day in Wolfsburg enabled us to present our commitment to the public for the first time.

Forward-looking economic activity.

In specifically implementing our sustainability goals, we take our lead from the Volkswagen Group’s guidelines, adopt these principles and draw up organisational instructions that correspond to the conditions specific to Volkswagen Immobilien. As one of the biggest landlords in Wolfsburg, we take social responsibility for our region by supporting numerous activities that promote social cohesion, health and education.

With a climate-friendly focus on our real estate portfolio in mind, we take climate-related financial risks into account in our business processes. Among other measures, we have systematically factored the level of carbon taxation into our medium-term planning and integrated it as a control parameter into the portfolio management system for property-specific planning of investments and modernisation measures.

Compliance and risk management.

Acting ethically and with integrity is of the utmost importance to Volkswagen Immobilien. Compliance, integrity and risk management are solid values that are firmly integrated into the Volkswagen Group’s compliance and integrity management. The Volkswagen Group’s Code of Conduct is the main instrument used in this regard to raise awareness among our workforce of the right conduct, support employees and put them in touch with suitable people in cases of any uncertainty. Furthermore, the Code of Conduct for business partners also shows what we expect from our business partners.

In order to meet the Volkswagen Group’s environmental targets and obligations and comply with legal requirements, Volkswagen Immobilien pursues a systematic approach by using the Environmental Compliance Management System (ECMS). It contains minimum requirements for the management of environmental impacts, assesses risks, sets out prevention and control mechanisms, provides guidelines for measuring effectiveness and lays down rules for standardised reporting both within Volkswagen Immobilien and the wider Volkswagen Group.
